King Charles III England Coast Path is now open

 

 

The section of the King Charles III England Coast Path  between  Warblington Road and Langstone is now open with the exception of  a section of public footpath 108/56/2 which is currently closed to allow for the construction of a footbridge to improve access along the footpath, this is where the path runs between Pook lane and Langstone. Work has been delayed because an electricity cable was unexpectantly found to be running under the site which has to be investigated before work continue. Hampshire County Council Update: Following the agreement  of indemnity arrangements between Hampshire County Council and Scottish and Southern Electric, they were able to carry out their investigation of the unregistered  cable. We are pleased to conf1rm that the electricity cable was not live. The cable has now been made safe, ruling out the possibility of any risk. As we are approaching the peak summer period, Hampshire County Council have decided to reopen the path for summer access. All exposed holes have been f1lled in, and the Heras fencing  will be removed so the path remains clear of obstructions during July and August.. Works will recommence later in the year and updates will be posted on the  Coastal Partners website.
