NA00039_1.WMF (22444 bytes)No.4 Stoughton and Bow Hill. This is a circular, mainly woodland walk to the N.E. end of Bow Hill (about 7km) with an option to continue to the top of Kingley Vale.

Get in the car and drive along the minor road from the B2146 through Walderton and Stoughton to the car park on the right at a right angled bend in the road.

From the car park follow the track to the north east. Bear right where the track forks:

and continue uphill remaining on the same broad flint track to the summit where on a clear day there is a view to the Isle of Wight to the south west:

From here either continue to the top of Kingley Vale, straight ahead or turn very sharply left and walk north east along the broad track through the woods:

Continue along this track still slightly uphill and through a gate. Turn left and continue with Yew woods to the right

until another gate is reached. Turn left again past a large house on the left and follow the track until a t-junction is reached. Turn left and follow this chalky track down hill past two houses on the right and along a beech avenue.

Just keep going to eventually return to the car park.
