Neighbourhood Watch

The team consists of a sergeant (who also has responsibility for another neighbourhood), one constable and one police community support officer. The largest proportion of our calls come from North Street and the town centre primarily relating to anti social behaviour and alcohol related offences. Other areas in which we receive a significant proportion of our calls, relate to youth disorder in and around the parks, woodlands and open spaces. Although calls to these areas are sporadic they do tend to peak on Friday and Saturday evenings especially during the school holiday periods. Emsworth also has its fair share of neighbour disputes which are dealt with where possible in partnership with the social housing providers, Portsmouth Mediation Service, via referral to the safer Havant Partnership. Where a mediated outcome is not possible legislation is utilised where appropriate. We also run a Junior PCSO scheme from Emsworth Primary School for 9-11 year olds and aims develop a sense of pride in their community.
