About Maisemore Gardens
Built in the early nineteen
sixties
Maisemore Gardens was an innovative
development with its central green, own private dinghy
park and slipway onto the harbour. The houses where
built to four basic designs:
The name Maisemore is thought to be of Welsh
origin, meaning "great field" (Welsh: maes mawr) and the street name
is unique there being no other in the UK.
Located in the favoured south west corner of
Emsworth south of the A259 in a sought after residential area,
Maisemore Gardens is adjacent to and has private gated access to the
foreshore set on the upper reaches of Chichester Harbour with
coastal walks to Langstone in the west and Thorney Island and
Chidham in the east, popular with both birdwatchers and ramblers. The
bustling centre of Emsworth a short walk away has local shopping,
pubs and restaurants and two sailing clubs. Emsworth station is part
of the Southampton/Brighton line with, via Havant, access to London
Waterloo and there are good road links east and west via the A27 and
north via the A3(M) to London.
Maisemore Gardens in Emsworth. lies within the Emsworth electoral
ward, within the local authority district of Havant and the English
Parliamentary constituency of Havant. The Clinical Commissioning
Group is NHS South Eastern Hampshire CCG and the police force is
Hampshire.
